Luke Hickey Physiotherapist
Introducing your local Gold Coast Physiotherapist Luke Hickey
Luke joined the Functional Health team in January 2018 after completing his Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University in 2017. Originally from a small town just south of Coffs Harbour, NSW, he moved to the Gold Coast to further his studies and has since made it home.
With a strong interest in sport, Luke has been heavily involved in cricket, representing the Gold Coast Dolphins Cricket Club throughout his university years. He also enjoys skiing and has played a variety of sports socially, including rugby league, touch football, basketball, and squash. His diverse sporting background gives him valuable insight into the physical demands placed on the body across different codes.
Luke has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management, human movement and biomechanics, and injury prevention. He combines hands-on treatment with targeted rehabilitation programs to help patients move better, recover fully, and perform at their best.
Within the Functional Health team, Luke also holds the less-coveted title of finishing runner-up at the Annual Christmas Golf Day four years in a row, despite playing several times a week.
